Cross-Collateralization Loans
Using more than one property as collateral
Cross-collateralized financing uses multiple properties to secure an obligation. It may be considered for eligible transactions when a single property does not provide the required collateral.
Each pledged property can be at risk if the loan defaults. Selling or refinancing one property may require lender approval, a release payment or other conditions. This structure does not guarantee that no cash contribution is needed.
Review liens, valuations, ownership, business purpose, repayment terms and collateral release provisions with appropriate professional advisers.
